PONGGAL 2026
🌾 Celebrating Ponggal with Heart and Heritage 🌾 This year, we were honored to join the Apex Club of Klang and MYKITA in celebrating the vibrant Pongal festival at MYKITA Hostel, Kerling. PonGgal, the cherished Tamil harvest festival, is a time of gratitude, tradition, and togetherness. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with the boys we met during last year’s GGAC 2025 Youth Camp in Mantin, young hearts who remembered us fondly and welcomed us with joy. Many of these children are orphans, growing up without parental care, yet deeply loved by those who nurture them. Their resilience shines through as they are top scholars, talented athletes, and some even represent their state in sports. We began the day with a heartfelt prayer for health and prosperity, followed by the creation of beautiful rice based kolam artwork. The ceremonial cooking of Ponggal, a dish symbolizing abundance, made by boiling rice with milk and jaggery reminded us of the festival’s essence “boiling over” with blessings. The celebration came alive with spirited performances of Kalaripayat and Silambam, showcasing the children’s discipline, pride, and cultural heritage. In line with the Kiwanis motto "Serving the children of the world", we donated three laptops, hoping they will empower these bright young minds on their journey toward excellence. Grateful for the opportunity to share this day of joy, tradition, and connection. Nandri Vanakkam

Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Children's Christmas Party 2025
On Sunday, 21st December 2025, the Kiwanis Club of Klang once again brought festive cheer to the children and families at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah. What began as a tradition has grown into a cherished moment of joy, where Santa, LaLa the Clown, and our members filled the wards with music, laughter and the spirit of giving. Every smile, every sparkle in a child’s eyes reminded us that the true magic of Christmas lies in love shared freely. This year’s celebration, we honored Head Nurse Sister Matron Ann, whose steadfast partnership has made these gatherings possible year after year. Her compassion, gentle strength and support have touched countless lives. As she joined us for her final event before retirement, our hearts were full of gratitude. Sister Matron Ann, thank you for walking beside us in service. May your new chapter be blessed with joy, health, and peace. You leave behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire. Adding to the joy, members from our newly formed Kiwanis Club of Klang Synergy joined us for the first time, bringing fresh energy and heartfelt dedication. These fine gentlemen and ladies prepared and wrapped gifts with great care, ensuring that no child was left out. Their thoughtful contributions lit up the children’s ward, proving that when hearts unite, every corner can be filled with warmth and hope. Equally moving was the joy reflected in the faces of the nurses and medical officers, who give so much of themselves in long hours of tireless care. To see their smiles as we visited was a reminder that the world’s greatest feeling is to be appreciated. To all of you who serve with courage and compassion in both ordinary and trying moments, we wish you good health, peace and strength. Your devotion is the quiet miracle that sustains this hospital every day. May we continue this tradition of service, ensuring that the hospital’s children and families experience the magic of Christmas for many years to come.

Green Generation Camp 2025
A Leap of Faith, A Legacy of Impact Hellooooo there... It’s been a while since I last posted because I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into something truly special. Although this isn’t the first time our club, Kiwanis Club of Klang, has organized a youth camp, this marks our 9th edition. 😅😅 And what a journey it’s been! Last year, we reimagined the entire concept and ideology, transforming our 8th camp into the first ever Green Generation Adventure 2024 (GGA 2024). A bold rebrand aligned with the Kiwanis Asia Pacific Chair’s theme: Green Generation. We hosted 70 youth and 30 volunteers at Mantin Forest Art Farmstay, focusing on participants from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, while still welcoming paid youth from our Kiwanis Social Leadership Program that we have nurtured through clubs and schools over the years. This year’s Green Generation Adventure 2025 (GGA 2025) was a leap of faith. A bigger vision, a bolder plan and a deeper commitment to impact. 🎯 Target 1: Empower 150 youth participants and recruit 50 volunteers Our goal was to engage 150 youth, primarily from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, supported by 50 dedicated volunteers. We personally visited orphanage homes to extend invitations and to our surprise, most said yes! For many of these children, it was their first-ever youth camp, and their first time staying away from home overnight. 😱😱 To ensure comfort and care, we also encouraged each home to send caretakers or volunteers along for the journey. 🎯 Target 2: Rebuilding an entire program Each activity, every moment are custom tailored for a wonderful 3days, 2 nights experience. 🎯 Target 3: Secure funding. With a mix of grace and grit, we secured a generous grant from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Our longtime sponsors, seeing that we had doubled our headcount, responded in kind by doubling their support. Their belief in our mission made all the difference 💚 On 18–20 September 2025, it all came together. We successfully raised enough funds to offer free participation to 138 underprivileged youth and 42 volunteers. A remarkable feat, considering a camp of this scale typically costs RM700 per person, covering meals, lodging, and activities. Every ringgit stretched to create memories, growth and a sense of belonging. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, venue host, transport providers, and every helping hand who turned this vision into reality. Your generosity, time, and belief in the cause made all the difference 📸 Here’s a glimpse into the journey we created together… From laughter to learning, challenge to connection, these are the moments that made Green Generation Adventure 2025 unforgettable. An article written by Kiwanis International communications analyst Ms. Erin Chandler highlighted the Kiwanis Club of Klang’s innovative approach to youth empowerment and environmental stewardship. In her piece, Chandler described the camp as “a living classroom, a playground for purpose, and a reminder that even the smallest hands can plant the biggest seeds.” This recognition affirms that our local efforts resonate globally, inspiring others to see children not just as recipients, but as changemakers. #KiwanisMalaysia #KiwanisChildrenFund #KiwanisClubOfKlang #GreenGenerationAdventure2025 #MantinForestArtFarmStay #KiwanisClubOfDamansara #KiwanisClubOfBangsar #KiwanisClubOfKualaLumpur #KiwanisClubOfJohorBahru #KiwanisClubOfTelukIntan
